There’s a bear in there!

We got our very first ‘beware of the bears’ sign in our neighborhood yesterday! There was a bear spotted at the vineyard just six doors away!! About 30 bags, or ten kilograms of grapes were disappearing nightly last week, so the farmer put his tent up under the vines. He looked out in the night and saw the bear five meters away. So he ran and got his dad (who is well over 80) and they chased it away. But in the morning they found the bear asleep just beside the vines! They went to get a camera but the bear woke up and ran away. Or sauntered…

Taiwan Lily

Lilium Formosanum

Blooming Lilies, they’re everywhere! This one is called Takasago Yuri in Japanese, or Hosoba-Teppo-Yuri, which translates as a ‘thin leaf shotgun Lily’!! Whoah! They have been flowering all August, but I only just got a picture in time! Nearly over!

Asters

The more flowers the better! It was the season for Asters at the beginning of August. These are being grown for sale locally to visitors.

As were these too, but I don’t know what they are called. Let me know if you know.
